Big Lemon Writer1. Scope and controller
This policy explains how Big Lemon Writer ("Big Lemon," "we," or "us"), operated by an individual developer based in Suzhou, China, handles personal information in the international web, iPad, Mac, and Windows editions.
2. Information we process
Account information
We process your email address, account identifier, password hash, session information, and account settings. We do not store your password in plain text.
Your content
We process novels, chapters, outlines, character notes, story cards, summaries, writing records, goals, and files that you choose to create, import, or upload.
Purchases and usage
We process subscription status, product, renewal and expiration dates, transaction identifiers, AI allowance usage, feature events, device type, app version, diagnostic information, and security logs. Product analytics are designed to record actions and numeric values, not draft text, passwords, cookies, or secret API keys.
3. How we use information
We use this information to authenticate your account; save, sync, search, export, restore, and delete your work; provide features you request; manage subscriptions and AI allowances; prevent abuse; troubleshoot errors; answer support requests; and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information or use private drafts for targeted advertising.
4. AI features
AI processing occurs only when you choose an AI action, such as chapter review, brainstorming, polishing, proofreading, continuation, or story search. We send the text and story context reasonably needed to answer that request. Selection-based actions prioritize the passage you selected.
Managed AI requests are routed through our server and may be processed by OpenRouter and the model provider selected by Big Lemon. AI output can be inaccurate; do not include unnecessary sensitive personal information in prompts or drafts sent to AI.
5. Service providers and transfers
We use service providers to operate the service, including Supabase for authentication, databases, storage and server functions; OpenRouter and AI model providers for user-requested AI features; Apple for App Store distribution and in-app purchases; and Paddle and RevenueCat for supported web subscriptions and entitlement synchronization.
These providers may process information in countries other than your own under their own security and legal obligations. We disclose only the information reasonably necessary for the relevant service, legal request, security incident, merger, or asset transfer.
6. Retention and security
We retain account and writing data while your account is active so that it remains available across your devices. After account deletion, private account data is deleted or de-identified, subject to backup cycles and records that must be retained for tax, refund, fraud prevention, security, or dispute purposes.
We use access controls, encrypted transport, credential hashing, row-level permissions, and restricted server credentials. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so keep independent exports of work that is important to you.
7. Your choices and rights
You can update account settings, export your work, manage your subscription, and delete your account from Settings → Account & security → Delete account. If a subscription screen is blocking the workspace, open Account & legal → Delete account permanently.
Deleting your Big Lemon account does not automatically cancel an App Store or web subscription. Cancel it with the store or payment provider separately. You may also contact us to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or information about our processing, subject to identity verification and applicable law.
8. Children, changes, and contact
Big Lemon is not directed to children under 13. If local law requires a higher minimum age, you must meet that age or use the service with valid parental authorization.
We may update this policy as the product, providers, or law changes. Material changes will be communicated through the app, website, or email when appropriate.
